Grammy-nominated World Music Pioneer Jai Uttal to perform at Indigo Yoga & Pilates on June 30th.

Kirtan is an ancient practice of call and response chanting that originated in India many centuries ago. As yoga gained popularity in the United States, so too has this practice of yogic chanting. During Kirtan, the breath is engaged, the mind is calmed and focused, and the heart is uplifted.

Jai Uttal has led Kirtan worldwide for nearly fifty years. Having traveled extensively in India, Jai draws inspiration from traditional Eastern music as well as American rock and jazz, creating a multi-cultural fusion of sound. All are welcome and no experience is necessary for this participatory event.

Locally owned and well-loved neighborhood studio, Indigo Yoga & Pilates, is found in Walnut Creek's easily accessible Palos Verdes Mall (Lunardi's Shopping Center). Indigo offers quality, experienced instruction in all aspects of Yoga, Pilates and more, in a warm and welcoming environment that features more than 75 group classes per week along with private instruction and community events.
