How Sugar Affects Your Intuition + A Healthy, Delicious Cookie Recipe
It's no secret that eating loads of sugar isn't great for your physical health, but did you know that consuming a lot of sugar isn't great for your spiritual health either? There is actually a direct link between nutrition and intuition.
As cliche as it may sound, our bodies really are a temple! Every single thing we consume has a vibration, so it's important to feed our bodies with nutritious foods that raise our energy rather than deplete it. We want a clear vessel and to keep the body radiating at its highest level.
Excessive amounts of sugar can actually shut down the functioning of the pituitary gland, which is considered the seat of spirituality. It is also one of the glands that is associated with the sixth chakra, or our third eye center, which is one of three centers of intuition in our bodies.
To keep our intuition strong, we need to be mindful of our sugar intake, but that doesn't mean we have to completely miss out on holiday treats. There are plenty of options out there that use natural sweeteners versus cane sugar. Here is one of my favorite healthier cookie recipes!
Prep time: About 15 minutes
Baking time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
2.5 mashed bananas
1/4 cup of olive oil
1/4 cup of maple syrup (or honey)
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
1 cup of gluten free rolled oats
2/3 cup of gluten free flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup shredded unsweetened dried coconut
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/4 cup of your favorite ingredients (raisons, carob chips, nuts OR a mix of all of these)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Mix wet ingredients.
Mix dry ingredients.
Mix everything together by hand (and do not overmix).
Place 2-inch balls of dough on lightly greased cookie sheet (try coconut oil or ghee).
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
