The Sound Healing Symphony Is Drawing Thousands Of People Together For Mass Meditation And Sound Experiences

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Sound Meditation Presents pulls 1400 people together on a Friday night… to meditate. The event, a collective of meditative musicians known as ‘The Sound Healing Symphony’ is filling up the landmark Grace Cathedral with a restorative experience known as a ‘sound meditation’ or a  ‘sound bath’. This concert of ancient sounds and percussive instruments is designed to bring its listeners into their deepest state of peace.

The Sound Healing Symphony is a co-created, immersive experience put on by Sound Meditation Presents. “It’s really amazing to see so many people come together to meditate,” says co-founder Simona Asinovski. “These ancient sounds are so simple and accessible: all you need to reset your well-being is to show up and relax. You don’t have to be a skilled-meditator to feel the benefits.”

The symphony is conducted by co-founder Guy Douglas, who’s been working with these instruments for over 15 years. “It’s really powerful to have so many people come out and gather in community for this meditative, holistic experience. When I play these instruments, I think of sending out the harmonics of love and peace”.

Since December 2015, Sound Meditation Presents has been filling up inspiring venues San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Portland and more – including the Conseratory of Flowers, The Portland Art Museum, St. John’s Cathedral, The Japanese Friendship Garden and more. Crowds of over 500 meditators regularly join in. 

The Symphony is an ensemble of some of the most amazing and devoted musicians in this field of music. The Symphony uses many sets of instruments, with each set circling the room to create an immersive effect. Listeners are bathed in the sounds of Paiste gongs, two dozen crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, Native American flutes, Didgeridoo, Celtic Harp, hang drums, ocean and frame drums, and a slew of chimes.
