Looking For A Yoga Vacation? A 100 Hour Training Is Perfect.

By Adam Carney

There’s an exciting new trend in the yoga world taking form in new 100-hour training modules. 100 hour training modules are the ideal way to travel, deepen your yoga practice, and connect with lifelong friends, without committing for an entire month-long teacher training.

I’m the owner of one of the largest yoga teacher training companies in the world East+West, we create all-inclusive yoga teacher trainings in Bali, as well as one of the largest online listing sites for teacher trainings. For years, I was stuck wanting to deepen my yoga practice, without actually going on a month-long teacher training. Many of the largest teacher in the world are starting to shift away from doing full 200 hour teacher trainings, breaking them up into 100 hour modules instead. 100 hour training modules are more intensive than a yoga retreat, and shorter than a full month-long 200 hour teacher training. They typically are between 11-15 days, and include a full daily schedule of yoga, meditation, and teaching workshops.

There’s a ton of benefits to doing a 100 hour training module over conventional travel.

  • Connect with new lifelong friends on the course.

  • Have your life reinvigorated with new practices you can take home with you.

  • Most modules are typically all-inclusive, so you have to do much less planning

  • Less expensive than a typical all-inclusive vacation.

The great thing about these 100 hour modules is in most instances, if you do 2-3 of them they can be combined to equal a 200 or 300 hour yoga alliance certification. If you are looking for some recommendations for awesome 100 hour modules, I highly suggest checking out these ones:

Mark Whitwell’s 100 Hour “Heart of Yoga” Trainings

I love what Tina Nance does in Bali. She runs a full schedule of 100 hour trainings throughout the year at Yoga Barn in Ubud, and if you happen to be able to do all 5 of them you can get your 500 hour yoga alliance certification. Expect to see more of this coming in the industry.

I see this as a major trend happening in the industry, and it’s exciting to be a part of. The future of travel shifting more towards guided experiences, and these new 100 hour modules.
