Bay Area Yoga Teacher Highlight: Cindy Storman
Name: Cindy Storman
Practice with me at: Red Dragon Yoga in Marin County (North Bay)
How long I’ve been teaching yoga: Since April 1999
What kind of yoga I teach: I teach Power Yoga and Intuitive Yoga (basically for privates)
My mantra these days: I love the life I live, while I create the life of my dreams.
A posture that has been resonating with me lately is: Half Moon (Ardachandrasana). I love it because it feels expansive in all four different directions.
How I like to practice yoga off the mat: I practice yoga off the mat by taking my intentions from the mat to everyday interactions. I also do a random act of kindness on a daily basis. Even if its smiling at a stranger or sending flowers anonymously to a friend (that’s one of my faves).
Favorite way to celebrate the winter: Cuddling up with a cup of hot lemon water or a glass of Pinot Noir (depending on mood and time of day), a crackling fire and my dogs while reading a good book.
The last book I read was: Becoming By Michelle Obama. Now I am reading Bad Blood By John Carreyrou.
Favorite local juice/tea spot: Juice Girl in Mill Valley.
Where I go for a nourishing meal: I love Burmatown (In Corte Madera, Marin County). The green tea leaf salad is the absolute best!
What’s on your yoga playlist right now: Vance Joy and SYML. I also love DJ Drez and ODESZA.
A few of my favorite yoga teachers are: Wendy Wilkinson is my new local fave. I also love Bryan Kest when I get the chance to go to L.A.
A ritual I love: I love my morning ritual of juicing celery juice every morning and then drinking it in my hot tub.
What I am letting go of this year: I am letting go of worrying. It really is like praying for something you don't want to happen.
What I am embracing this year: Embracing this year with more creativity and created a vision board with a new house for my husband and I.
