Hawaii Yoga Festival Celebrates Love In Action!
PRESS RELEASE BY HAWAII YOGA FESTIVAL
Kalani, HI will host the fifth annual Hawaii Yoga Festival, October 10-15, on its 120-acre retreat center campus set in the jungle of east Hawaii. This is the fifth annual non-profit festival promoting personal transformation and inspired learning for yogis of all skill-levels, on and off the mat. The festival features over 60 sessions presented by a diverse range of faculty from Hawaii and around the world. Yoga teacher, writer, and body positivity advocate Jessamyn Stanley is the first of many additions to the 2017 lineup.
Inspired by the writings of Thich Nhat Hahn in his book Love in Action: Writings on Nonviolent Social Change, this year’s festival will encourage participants to explore the concept of ahimsa and the ways yoga, mindfulness and social justice are intertwined. Festival goers will engage in: strengthening and restorative asana; meditation; panel discussions, and healing practices, including the popular Deep Gong Bath, led by Jade Light. Attendees will also be invited to enjoy Hawaiian culture events, live music performances, freshly-prepared meals from the Kalani kitchen, and opportunities for self-discovery and connection.
Hawaii Yoga Festival, Kalani’s flagship event, is a platform to unite in the spirit of joy, love, and mutual respect in response to our troubled times. Kalani Honua will hold space to celebrate what makes us alike while honoring what makes us different,” says Joel Tan, Kalani’s Executive Director. The Hawaii Yoga Festival embodies Kalani’s mission to facilitate personal transformation via nature immersion, discovery of Hawaiian culture, and wellness practices.
